Green roof module
LiveRoof LLC has introduced LiveRoof Maxx. The LiveRoof Maxx module (1 foot x 1 foot x 3¼ inches) is for extensive green roofs with soil depths of up to 8 inches.
The Soil Elevator, a removable insert, lines the inside of modules so soil can be filled above the top. When the modules are installed side by side and the Soil Elevators are removed, an uninterrupted layer of soil and vegetative surface extends across the entire rooftop. The Moisture Portal is an opening on the sides of the modules and establishes soil-to-soil contact between them. READER SERVICE #65
LED grow light
Hort Americas has introduced the Philips GreenPower LED Production Module. It's available in an UL-approved 110-volt version in the U. S. The modules are available in deep red/blue (general light good for a variety of growing applications) and deep red/white (if work light is needed). At between 35-43 watts, the modules can replace many T5 or T8 grow light applications and reduce energy consumption. The Production Modules are being tested on ornamentals for day length extension and photoperiodic manipulation. READER SERVICE #66
