The American Horticultural Society (AHS) is excited to announce the launch of AHS Lifelong Learning, a series of 50 educational programs held annually – virtually and in-person – that build gardeners’ knowledge, skills and community. The programs unite plant lovers of all learning levels across the nation. The AHS Lifelong Learning program descriptions and registration are available at www.ahsgardening.org/lifelong-learning. AHS members receive discounts on registration.

Featured presenters for the inaugural fall/winter semester include internationally renowned plant professionals such as Tom Carruth (The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens), Holly Shimizu (United States Botanic Garden), Dr. Yota Batsaki (Dumbarton Oaks), Prof. Jonathan Drori (Cambridge University Botanic Garden), Uli Lorimer (Native Plant Trust), Abra Lee (Historic Oakland Foundation), Michael DeMotta (National Tropical Botanical Garden), Jennifer Jewell (Cultivating Place), Dr. Noel Kingsbury and more.

Speakers, topics and formats feature perspectives from regions and lenses as diverse as America’s gardeners. AHS Lifelong Learning programs address five plant-driven learning areas: science, design, culture, health and industry. All areas integrate objectives for learning about plant materials and selection, approaches and techniques, and cultivation and maintenance. Program formats include workshops, classes, conversations, talks, tours and gatherings.

AHS's Director of National Programs Courtney Allen said, "We're thrilled to unveil these enriching programs that will empower individuals to connect with nature on a deeper level and enhance their appreciation for horticulture. Our goal is to provide accessible, informative and enjoyable learning experiences that resonate with our communities and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future."
