Steve Tabor joins Skagit Horticulture as the general manager of their Watsonville, Calif. facility. Tabor assumes leadership responsibility for all growing operations. Located in the heart of California's agricultural region, the facility is strategically important for supplying quality, early-season color to Skagit Horticulture customers.
Since 2007, Tabor was with Pacific Plug and Liner, working in a number of key roles including production scheduling, software implementation, logistics, inventory management and operations. Most recently, Tabor has been very closely involved in implementing Lean practices, serving as Lean captain at the nursery. Tabor will continue to be very involved in improving production efficiencies as Skagit Horticulture implements Lean processes in Watsonville, as well as at its three Washington facilities.
Steve and his wife Sarah are long-time Monterey County residents, and both have been involved in agriculture. With their two sons, Levi and Jake, they enjoy camping and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
