The tournament is similar to March’s college basketball tournament, but the participants’ votes determine which plants advance through the rounds.
Editor's note: Want to know how the Shrub Madness tournament is designed? Listen to "Plant bracketology," a podcast we recorded with Stacey Hirvela, horticultural marketing specialist with Spring Meadow, ahead of the 2017 tournament.
There are three ways to win.
Daily Drawings: Every day, voters will be picked at random to win quart-sized selections of the current rounds’ winning plants.
Floral Four: At the end of the competition, four voters will be randomly selected to win full-sized Floral Four plants, the final four competing shrubs.
