The California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers has scheduled the 2018 CANGC Convention for Oct. 9-10 in San Diego, Calif. The meeting provides a forum to learn about new resources, network with peers, and address challenges and other issues of interest and concern to California’s nursery industry.
Growers, retailers, industry suppliers, nursery industry partners and anyone who wishes to learn more about critical issues pertaining to the nursery industry are invited to attend CANGC’s annual convention.
From human resources and politics to plant breeding and pest trends, the convention program has been crafted to showcase topics of interest which are important to all those involved in the nursery industry. There will be a group luncheon with the event's keynote speaker, Nick Matteis of California Grown. Matteis will speak on his experience with the Buy California Marketing Agreement, their story, promotions and campaigns, making social media work for you, surveys and case studies, and more. There will also be special recognition of the CANERS scholarship recipients at the luncheon.
On the evening of Oct. 10, there will be a reception honoring the winners of several awards, including the Nursery Professional of the Year Award, the Outstanding Horticulture Education Award, The Research Award and the Young Nursery Professional Award.
The event offers several registration options at varying price points.
Full convention registration includes admittance to the Tuesday night Welcome Reception, and Wednesday continental breakfast and coffee, enriching meeting sessions and speakers, luncheon featuring a keynote speaker, afternoon meetings, hosted CANERS Reception and Chairperson’s Dinner featuring CDFA Secretary Karen Ross.
Full convention registration is $265 for CANGC members and $365 for non-members. Couples packages are available for $465 and $565, respectively. An optional tour of San Diego will be offered on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. You must be registered for the convention to participate in the tour and purchase the tour ticket separately. The tour is $75 for members and $110 for non-members.
