VINELAND STATION, ONTARIO, CANADA – Vineland Research and Innovation Centre (Vineland) welcomed two new directors to the Board and thanked two outgoing directors for their contribution at its September 27 annual meeting. Incoming directors include Kristin Ego-MacPhail, Owner, Ego’s Nurseries Ltd. and Shelley Martin, President and Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé Canada Inc. "Year after year I’m astounded at the talent and expertise we are able to attract to our Board and we are excited to work with these new Board members to leverage their vast experience," said The Honourable Lyle Vanclief, Board Chair, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre. “I also would like to thank departing Board members Marilyn Knox and Phil Tregunno for their insight and guidance during their mandate.”
About Kristin Ego-MacPhail
Kristin Ego-MacPhail owns family-run Ego’s Nurseries Ltd. located in Simcoe County, ON. The greenhouse operation cultivates a wide variety of fruit and vegetables sold to farmers’ markets, restaurants and retailers. The nursery also sells a selection of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs to landscape and gardening operations. Ms. Ego-MacPhail holds a BSc in agriculture from the University of Guelph. She is Director of the Ontario Farm Fresh Marketing Association and Past Chair of Agricultural Adaptation Council.

Martin is President and CEO of Nestlé Canada Inc. She was previously Nestlé Inc.’s Vice President of Confectionery; President, Ice Cream; and Division Executive Manager of the Frozen Foods Business. Prior to joining Nestlé Canada Inc., Ms. Martin worked at General Mills. She holds a HBBA in marketing from Wilfrid Laurier University. In 2015, Ms. Martin was named a Top 100 award winner for Canada’s Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network.
